REC was set up in 1969 (25.07.1969).


Man power Profile:

As on 1.3.2004, It has 669 employees. This consist of 164 executives (including 24 employees) and 505 non executives (including 76 women employees).


HR Policies:

It has well defined and codified personnel policies such as service and recruitment rules, pay fixation rules, well defined service conditions, working hours etc.


Pay Scales and Allowances:

It has adopted Industrial DA scales. The IDA scale-1997 is invoke. This is effective from 1.1.1997.

Company Leased Accommodation including self lease accommodation is provided to the executives.


Advances :

House Building Advance, Conveyance advance, festival advance, computer loan, purchase of household utility items, marriage loan for self and wards


Facilities:
  • Conveyance, expenditure, transport subsidy, traveling allowance, transfer TA, over time etc.
  • Leave including leave encashment while in service limiting to 30 days in a calendar year, holiday, study leave,. Medical attendance rules for indoor treatment in Govt. hospitals, leading hospitals/super specialty hospitals, out door treatment up to a ceiling of one month basic pay plus dearness allowance.
  • LTC, children education allowances, news paper re-imbursement, merit scholarship, canteen subsidy, re-imbursement of telephone rentals and office telephone at residence and mobile telephone to officers and staff on functional basis.
Employee Relation & Welfare:

Participative excursion trip, sports, grievance redressal machinery, complaint cell and women cell headed by a women.


Incentives and Awards:

Incentive for additional qualification, small family norms, hindi incentive, ex-gratia payment, performance linked incentive etc.


Training & Development:

Nomination of executives to various national / international workshops, symposiums, meetings, training abroad and within India. Structured and need based in-house training to the executives at base level to enhance their level of knowledge, skill and professional competence for career development.
